Rosata Amici 2024

This wine is a world first, the rosé has been made with the Saperavi Grape variety. Saperavi is an indigenous grape from Georgia and is termed a “Teinturier Grape” meaning it has red flesh inside unlike others that are green flesh. Traditional Rosé is made by allowing a small amount of skin contact with the green juice to make a slight salmon colour, the difficulty with the Saperavi juice was that it was already dark red so removal from the skins was paramount. A further lightening of the resulting juice was achieved by blending with Montepulciano juice with minimal skin contact. The resulting wine has an amazing purple hue and classic strawberries and red fruits on the palate. Enjoy chilled; this wine is simply delicious.
